Making friends can be difficult in LA where everyone is busy all the time. With a built-in community and curated moments of connection, The Sylvan provides the opportunity to make new friends. From morning coffee chats, afternoon co-working focus time, and game/movie nights, The Sylvan becomes where new memories are made.

The Sylvan was founded by Maryam and Francisco in 2026.
In 2021, the couple moved to Montecito Heights, LA, where they started building a foundation for their lives in a small hillside bungalow. As young immigrants, they both hold a high value on building a community for themselves and believe in the importance of chosen family. Living in LA, they learned how difficult it can be to balance work and life and still stay connected with friends and family. When the opportunity presented itself in the heart of their beloved neighborhood, the couple knew what they're meant to do. As Licensed Architects, they poured their love and passion into this project to create a place that would be the home to all the values they hold. They designed a home where chosen families are gathered; they curated a space where new memories are made;
they built The Sylvan.
